John Wesley Heathco, affectionately known as Johnny, was a spirited adventurer who brought joy and energy to everyone around him.
From his early days in Mission Viejo, Johnny’s curiosity and zest for life set him apart. A straight-A student and valedictorian at Capistrano Valley High, he excelled in wrestling, roller hockey, and piano. His passion for technology emerged early; he self-taught coding, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Computer Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
After graduation, Johnny carved his path in tech, eventually launching LES Labs, a successful supplement company. He combined technical expertise with a deep commitment to health and wellness, embodying his dream of entrepreneurship and helping others.
Johnny was not just a brilliant mind; he loved life. Whether surfing, golfing, or playing competitive hockey, he embraced every moment. He enjoyed deep conversations and exploring the world, immersing himself in diverse cultures and languages.
Johnny’s life was tragically cut short on June 13, 2023, at age 40, when he and his girlfriend, Abby Lutz, suffered acute carbon monoxide poisoning at a 5-star resort, but his legacy lives on through our mission. We strive to honor his spirit by raising awareness about carbon monoxide safety and preventing similar tragedies.

Johnny’s story has encouraged us to be more mindful of carbon monoxide poisoning and take proactive steps to detect and prevent it—steps that have already made a meaningful difference.
